Good signOfficial tools or a Workshop

Search "game name SDK", "editor" or "modding". A Steam Workshop tab, mod.io, Thunderstore or a busy Nexus Mods page means the game is mod-friendly.

TipFind the engine

Most games are built on Unreal or Unity. Once you know which, the matching section above tells you roughly how its mods work.

StopCompetitive online games

Games like Valorant, Fortnite or Call of Duty use anti-cheat that bans modified clients. Don't mod them, even cosmetically.
